2006-06-17:  Response from NEDA to Fdn re Fraudulent Land Titles

At a special meeting of the Board of Trustees held today President of the Foundation, Cenon C. Marcos, presented a letter of response from the National Economic and Development Authority. Text of the letter is presented below:

Re: Original Certificate of Titles (OCTs) and Derivative Titles (TCTs) declared NULL and VOID and CERTIFIED not on record by the SUPREME COURT (en banc) and LRC (now LRA) respectively

This refers to your letter dated April 25, 2006, in which you requested NEDA to deny any further dealings with the land titles declared null and void by the Supreme Court for domestic or foreign projects involving the government. We thank you for informing us on the status of these titles; NEDA recognizes the importance of land titling as a prerequisite to development and we are supporting several reform programs on this subject.

{Signed by Romulo L. Neri, Secretary of Socio-Economic Planning and Director-General}

It is hard to see how all of these government agencies will straighten out the issue of fraudulent titles without involving the Foundation for the benefit of the Filipino people.
