2006-10-05:  General Update

The AWARENESS campaign involving dissemination of the Tallano Foundation CD titled, NOW YOU KNOW, is proceeding apace. If one in ten people who receives the disk makes 10 copies and ensures that one in ten of the people who get those copies will make ten copies--this program will spread even more quickly than we hoped in the first place.

At the October 3 Foundation meeting a certain guest at the meeting expressed a desire to format the CD presentation as a DVD, which will be playable on any TV (for those who do not have access to computers). It is a SPLENDID idea and we will certainly follow through on that thought. It is always delightful to encounter someone willing to put their energy into increasing public awareness of the gold and spurious land titling issues.

The Board also approved a letter to the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ) to expose these issues further.  It will be interesting to see what kind of response, if any, this letter receives.  Gandhi of India said it best with regard to advancing the truth in the face of a persistent lie: “First they ignore you; then they ridicule you; then they fight you; and then, they lose.” We just want the land grabbing issue to be brought out into the light where it can be thoroughly examined.

Legally, several “test cases” are still being pursued but it is premature to comment.
